The Lambertseter branch is located in the district of Nordstrand in southern Oslo, in the Lambertseter shopping centre. Underground line 4 toward Bergkrystallen and bus number 79 both stop at Lambertseter, and there is ample parking in the area.
The Nordstrand district has a small-town feeling and rural surroundings, with a population comprised of people from all walks of life and age groups. The area has a reputation for being a stable and safe environment in which to live. Lambertseter is Norway’s oldest satellite community, with well-maintained buildings erected in the 1950’s.
The Lambertseter branch is popular and has a high circulation rate. The library cooperates closely with local groups – Søndre Aker Historical Society has its document collection at the library, and its photo database is published on the web. Patrons can borrow books, magazines and music, there is a large collection of literature related to art, and a very popular collection of books about interior design.
