Take subway line 5, or one of the many buses that go to Stovner (25, 65, 362 and 363) and pay us a visit at the Stovner branch. You will find us right next to Stovner shopping centre. The library is located on street level and is easily accessible for the physically challenged.
The Stovner district is northeast in Groruddalen, and has 27,885 inhabitants.
We offer books, audio books, periodicals and films for loan, both for children and adults . You can use our Mac computers, read newspapers and magazines, and we also have a quiet reading room. A colour copy machine is to your disposition for a small fee.
Most of our collection is in Norwegian, but we also have books in English, French, Danish, Swedish, German, Urdu, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Persian,Russian, Somali, Finnish, Turk and Spanish. We have newspapers and periodicals in several languages.
We have a collection of language courses and of "easy-reader"-books in Norwegian. You can use our "language laboratory" - "Språk-lab" in Norwegian, for your language studies. Borrow a lap top, a headset and an audio-book . We have many language courses available in many different languages. Make a reservation of the "Språk-lab". Free use for one person up to three hours.
In the course of a year we have different events, such as book cafes with visiting authors, concerts, exhibitions of art and books , and we offer free children's theatre 4-6 times a year.
Every friday between 12-14 we offer one hour personal introduction to beginners on how to use the Internet . Please contact the library to make a reservation.
Each autumn we offer Senior Surf, where those over the age of 55 can learn how to use a computer and the Internet.
School classes visit our branch on a regular basis.
