RATES REGARDING FEES, FINES & REPLACEMENT CHARGES AT THE OSLO PUBLIC LIBRARY
1) LENDING CHARGE FOR USE OF ID IN LIEU OF LIBRARY CARD
Patrons forgetting to bring their library card may present a valid ID as proof of identity, but must pay a charge of NOK 10 if they are over 16.
2) CHARGE FOR ISSUING A NEW LIBRARY CARD
A new library card can be issued if the old one is reported as lost or damaged.
The charge for patrons aged 16 years and above is NOK 20.
The charge for patrons under 16 is NOK 10.
3) OVERDUE BOOKS
When returning books that are overdue, patrons must pay a fine:

4) REPLACEMENT CHARGE
When setting average replacement charges based on the type of material, the following principles and rates will apply:
Adult book

Children's book
NOK 200
There is a system of differentiated pricing for the oldest books on loan, with the year 1900 serving as a cut-off point:
Books published before 1900 NOK 1,500
Books published after 1900 Standard prices (see above)
For material other than books, the following standard replacement charges apply:

CDs
NOK 300
DVDs
NOK 300
Audio books
NOK 300
CD-ROMs

Language courses

Magazines
For children`s material, the charge is NOK 200 for videos, CDs, DVDs, audio books and CD-ROMs.
A replacement fee (NOK 100) is also charged on each replacement claim issued.
