Deichmanske bibliotek, the Oslo Public Library, is the public library servicing the county of Oslo, and is available to all citizens of Oslo. The library consists of a large main branch in the center of the city, and has many smaller branch libraries spread throughout the city. Search our catalogue. Here, you can see if the library has a book you want to read, a particular poem you are interested in, music you want to listen to, or you can browse our photographic database.

Detektor is the library´s collection of quality-controlled Internet links. The sites you will find here are to a great extent chosen on the basis of questions from patrons.

Bazar is a multilingual guide to your rights and responsibilites in Norway.

Biblioteksvar (Ask the Library) is the library´s virtual referance service, where you can have your questions answered in the course of the following business day. You can have your question answered in Norwegian as well as other Nordic languages, or English.

Chat with a Librarian and get an answer in realtime.

SMS Send a question via Short Message Service from your cell phone and receive an answer as quickly as possible, by the end of the next business day at the latest.

The School Workshop is the library´s Net service specially designed to meet the needs of school children.

MappaMi, our patron account management module, gives you the opportunity to keep an eye on and renew your loans, to reserve material and see when you can pick up material you´ve reserved, and to register you areas of interest.
